Good to know

Do I need a visa?

Citizens of many countries, including Turkey, the EU, the UK and the US, can visit Kyrgyzstan visa-free for a short stay. Check the current rules for your passport before you travel.

When is the best time to go?

June to September, for the lakes, pastures and yurt camps. Song-Köl is usually reachable from mid-June to early September. Bookings for the 2027 summer season are open.

I have never ridden a horse. Is that a problem?

No. Many guests ride for the first time in Kyrgyzstan. Riding is always optional and at your own pace, and Mustafa matches the route to your experience.

How cold is it at Song-Köl?

The lake lies at 3016 m. Even in July the nights can drop close to freezing, so bring warm layers. Yurts are heated with a stove.
